Sometimes we are pessimistic…

I would like to share the researcher’s disappointing moment. You must know that we are not 100% lucky with finding what we are tasked to find…

We found six notepads, filled with the careful handwriting, which turned out to be memoirs of the officer about the WW1, ending in 1914… The last notepad had the writing by the same hand “Publish 25 years after my death”… And he is long dead… Decided to make it into book publishing project, and even received the preliminary approval from the heiress… only to find out the somebody already published this text in 1970s…

The project ended without even starting…

We got some wine and started looking for something else as exciting as those old notebooks…

Absolutely unrelated but very sad and pessimistic 1918 official letter in Russian is attached as a sign of current mood…
